Been with this surgery since I was born. (Apart from a few years away at Uni) never had a complaint. Best doctors around. HOWEVER in recent years receptionist seem to think they're doctors. I asked to see a doctor for some antidepressants once while I was home but registered up in uni, asked to be a temp patient as it was urgent and was told by a RECEPTIONIST that I should come back when I'm ACTUALLY poorly as I'd need to see a psychiatrist and there was no point being a temp patient on the psych waiting list... I never got to see a doctor. Or a psychiatrist as it WASN'T NEEDED I later found out. Yet the receptionist with her obvious years of medical training was allegedly qualified enough to decide that...Another time I called the new system about a week long intense migraine I'd had and was again told by a RECEPTIONIST that they were only taking urgent calls that day as they had a high number of calls and if I didn't think it was urgent I should call back tomorrow. Goes against their entire "the doctor will decide how urgent it is" promise. I've also had this same receptionist roll her eyes at me and have an absolutely disgusting attitude.On other occasions I've called up on my behalf and my fianc when we've both run out of very urgent medication to be told by reception "Not a lot I can do sorry. Call in the morning" even after explaining how urgent the situation was.It's easier to get an answer from God than it is to speak to an actual doctor at that surgery! Receptionist think they're consultants! Doctors can't be bothered most of the time! Very rude attitude from almost all the staff! I also agree that you have to wait by the phone all day to know if you're allowed to see a doctor. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Can't wait to register elsewhere!!
New booking system is an absolute joke. You have to await doctor's calling you back from withheld number at some point on the day so then he/she will decide if you require an appointment or arranges a lucky dip prescription without even seeing you to diagnose. This is more of a call centre with absolute lack of care. You more like to find more help on Google.
Good surgery but long long wait for appointments.
